Layouts from Ann

Hi all,

These are the first two layouts I have created for Scottie Crafts and I had a lot of fun working with these gorgeous papers from Bo Bunny and Websters pages.

For my first layout I wanted to create a fun page using photos of my youngest daughter having fun pretending to be Hannah Montana ( complete with giant blonde wig...lol).

I  used the Bo Bunny  Jazmyne Noteworthy paper as a base, this paper is glittered and has built in floral elements and a ready made frame, I used a Tim Holtz -Timeworks mask in the background.

I cut additional glittered leaves from the Bo Bunny  Twilight paper for added dimension, popped on some Prima Athena and Pearl Penache flowers and added a Prima E-Line crystal swirl.

I loved the Vintaj Brass elements, they just added a really cute finishing touch.

My second layout features a special family photo and i as soon as i spotted theWebster's Pages  Life's Portrait diecut in the shop I knew it would be  perfect for this layout!

I added Prima mini roses, had fun making a frame for the photo using the Martha Stewart Iron Gate edge and corner punches and added the gorgeous Vintaj Brass Filigree Butterfly and Dragonfly to finish the page.

Just click on any of the highlighted links to find the products I've used in the online store.

Prima With Michelle

Hi everyone ... it's Michelle [aka Mrs Frizz] logging on for the very first time for Scottie Crafts on their blog and in Word Press and I have three layouts to share with you.

I’ve used a Martha Stewart punch, coral rose chalk ink pad and pinecone ink and a little distressing ... Tim Holtz alterations dies which I have pinecone inked and coral rose inked a little and then I have lightly sanded and then inked again.  I've sewn on the wee padlock and added a few feathers and brads  ... I’ve also added MLS alpha stickers  and then I lightly inked over the top of them, so they weren’t quite so yellow-ish.

This layout has a whole lot of inking and distressing going on and a patch work effect with the papers.  I added a little paint to the edges of some of the flowers and it turned out to be just the right shade, the same as the greenish colour on the patterned paper ... must have been the yellow colour of the flowers that made it like that – it sure wasn’t intentional - lol.  I added a little tulle underneath the flowers, a little embroidery thread on the buttons on the flowers and a little more bling and voila.

My final layout – I’ve used a trusty old plate and cut out my circle ... my Martha Stewart punch came out again and I cut strips and punched along the edge ... I’ve then glue dotted around the underneath of my circle and nicked it periodically to put a semi pleat in it ... I've then inked and distressed the edge.

I’ve grabbed a piece of magic mesh and painted over the top with Tim Holtz crackle paint, once dry I lifted the mesh and used it underneath as another layer at the top.  I’ve also inked and recycled some of the Prima packaging to add another layer under my photo.

Popped on a couple of feathers [like my feathers atm], handmade a wee paper rose and glue dotted that on another flower and then I’ve used a mixture of the pink Prima [Athena] flowers from the kit with some of my blue flowers of the same variety to tie in the blue of the paint... I’ve also used thin strips of paper and curled them using my paper piercer and then lightly added a little paint on the top and then some stickles... Once again I opted for the MLS stickers with a light coating of coral rose ink over the top.

So there you have it ... my first layouts for the team at Scottie Crafts.  Thank you ladies.

And I would just like to say a huge thanks to Ann for helping me with my post.  Technology !!!!!

So that's it from me.

Wrap up warm and stay dry.

Happy creating,

Michelle

One more from Sarah

Here is the final layout from the PaperLoft kit Sarah had to play with this month.

Thank you Sarah, your work is so inspirational!

Sarah says:

I love this photo of Benji and Sophie and the scraps that I had left over from the Scottie Craft Kit were a perfect match.

I love the photo frame (which I lifted with foam tape) and the gorgeous lace border (Thanks Wendy).

Inspiration from Sarah

Sarah has been superfast working with her first kit (she only received it on Saturday!), look at these gorgeous creations using paper/embellishments from Paper Loft's "Dude" collection.

Sarah says...

Here are my first three LOs for Scotty Crafts.

I was given papers from Paper loft's 'Dude' collection to work with. The colour scheme is amazing for autumn photos and perfectly matched some recent photos that I had of Benji playing in the garden in the autumn the leaves. I couldn't decide which to use on my Outdoorsy Boy LO so I chose a grid design, printed wallet size photos and used them all!

A little bit of Tim Holtz distress ink (I can't live without this stuff) and some tags and bling completed the LO.
Although this range is designed for boys the colours match really well with any sepia coloured photo. In my second LO I used photos of Natalie blowing out her 13th birthday candles. the lace and ribbon combined with some bling and flowers made a very feminine LO. I cut the large circle using different sized plates. I crumpled it, flattened it out, sanded over the creases and swiped it with distress ink. Before I adhered it to my LO I ironed it flat.

For my third LO I took a favourite shot of Benji with his teddy and two wallet prints left over from my first LO. I used a fiskars boarder punch to make the ribbon border and adhered the pleated lace border with staples. The word tags are also part of the Dude range.

You will be able to see these LO's and the one that I am currently working on at the store next week.

We Are Open

The store officially opened on Saturday Morning and was a flurry of activity all day with customers keen to visit and see all of the new product we have in stock.

Look out for the big pink flag as you travel along Rosedale Road, it should be easy to spot!

After a very busy week merchandising the shop, our opening night celebrations were enjoyed by all in attendance on Friday night.

Wendy, Adrienne and Ann enjoyed a well earned glass of bubbles to celebrate the opening  and they even managed to be colour co-ordinated for the big event.

Some of the ladies enjoyed a spot of early shopping and loved the selection of Fire Mountain Beads we have in store.

And there were more than a few laughs during the evening, Adrienne and Barbara look like they are having a great time.

Renchia and Wayne organised lots of delectable nibbles for the evening and staff, family, friends and suppliers all got to mingle and chat.....

Congratulations John and Adrienne on the official opening of Scottie Crafts.
