Happiness Layout - by Kimi

Hello bloggers I am back and I have another layout to share with you all this week.  O M GOOSSSH guys I have created more layouts in the last month than I have in a year!! Can you believe that??  I think I have said once or twice before that I don't do layouts. Well I am thinking I can't say that anymore.

Today's layout is created from more of the Garden Party Stack by DCWV an oldie but a goodie,  right?  I have taken the really pretty light aqua sheet with the Butterfly print and used it as my base.  I then added some of the brown prints to it.  I know that is kinda vague, but it is really hard guys to describe these papers when they have no name on them. I will do my best.  I have cut a strip from the brown glittered paper that is 4"x12" and a 2"x12" strip from the border print sheet and teamed them up to create the bottom half of the page.   I then cut a large mat from the brown and blue Argyle type print.  I than added my photo mat.  I added some greenery using the Fresh Foliage Memory Box die....did I tell you guys how much I love these dies?.

My flower layers are a mix of paper and silk.  In the centre of the large flower I have used a sticker from the pad and a glass cabochon. To finish off  I have tucked in a little love bingo card.
These cute little tags I have tucked in here are also from the paper pad and I have added some word rubons from my November Kaisercraft Tea Break Collection.  I still can't believe how well they matched.
My last embellishment was to add the Vivienne butterfly from Memory Box ....I loved how this filigree looked on my baby girl layout and decided to use it again.  Except this time in blue

and that readers is my project for this week.  Please stop by Scottie Crafts, check out their collection of Memory Box dies....I fully recommend them to you all.  They are easy to work with, no hassles in cutting - even if your cutting plates and pads aren't the newest  - like mine.  If you can't find what you are looking for be sure to message the girls and they will help you.

Butterfly Card - by Kimi

I've never really considered myself a 'card maker', I feel there are many many talented ladies out there that can easily claim that title! That being said, I  have recently been putting the odd card or two together. This week I have what I call a very simple and easy card to share with you all aaaaannnnndddd it took hardly any time at all to create.  Even I managed to get this done in a morning....and I spend ages agonising over what papers to use.  Well today that task was simple....DCWV Garden Party!!  I have gone with the brown and orange/pink papers that are in this stash.  I love how they go together.

I haven't cheated this time readers, I have created my card base from some off white cardstock from my stash.  I have cut it to measure 4.5" x 11.5" and scored it in half.
I have then cut my layers 1/4" smaller each time.
I then gathered some embellishments....Chocolate Seam binding;mulberry paper flower; some strips from the leftovers; even some buttons which went by the wayside...

I guess, I begin at the top of the card and work my way down.  I have tied a bow with the seam binding and gave the mulberry paper flower a spray with Lindy's stamp gang Ramblin rose pink.  I hot glued these together and then to the layered paper strips. I have used a pair of pretty edging scissors to create the lacey bottom of the brown strip.
I found that the sentiment stickers from  Kaisercrafts Tea Break  Alpha Sticker Sheet went perfectly with these papers. Here I have cut one of the long sticker strips in two and layered them onto the brown DCWV papers.

I have used the two butterfly dies from Memory Box - Darla Butterfly for the base and Vivienne Butterfly for the filigree top.

So now we have reached the bottom of my card and the second half of the sticker sentiment.  I have layered this up on some little leftovers of the two papers and I saved the lacey offcut from the top strip and stuck it along the bottom of the card.

I hope you have enjoyed my very simple card and  I have inspired you to give it a try :)

Baby Girl Layout - By Kimi

Hello again everyone. I have a layout to share with you all today and it from more of those lovely papers from DCWV - Garden Party Stack.  I know this is a relatively "old" stack, but still very usuable.  I really enjoyed working with the lovely bright colours and prints.

I have used a green page from the paper pad as the base for my layout.  I then cut the pretty print to 6" x 12" and from the co-ordinatng apricot/pink I punched them with my fiskars border punch.
I saved the two "offcuts" and used them to border on the top of the printed strip, whilst the larger lacey edge went to the bottom .
I then layered this on to my green base.
I added a thin white lace between the two apricot pink strips.
I then began the layering process.   I have used some of the American Crafts ribbon from my November kit and also one of the little plastic doilies.  The words are from Kaisercraft - Tea Break Sticker sheet.  I couldn't believe my luck when I saw how well they matched these papers.  The butterfly is cut from some scraps of glossy photo paper using the Memory Box die - "Vivenne Butterfly".
The leaves are cut from the DCWV stack using the Sonora Rose and the finer spray is cut using Fresh Foliage.  I am really loving these dies.  They cut perfectly every time and the Fresh Foliage is just so versatile

Here are few pics of the finer details ......

Well readers that's my lot for this week.  Thanks again for joining me in this festive season.  Hope you are having a merry time..
