Big Night Out - Mrs Frizz

I'm back to share a little more creativity.

Still playing - oops, being creative with My Little Shoebox papers [and more than one photo on my layout].

And on this layout I have used:

MLS Summer Breeze - Outdoor Fresh
MLS Summer Breeze - Spring ShowerMLS Summer Breeze - Sunkissed
Lace
Prima bling
Prima Roosevelt flower
A little Prima packaging [can't let that go to waste]
Prima Mulberry Rose leaves
Tim Holtz alterations die - and I've used the key
MS lace doily edge punch

Head into the team at Scottie Crafts and they will point you in the right direction for any of those goodies.

Anything else was already in my stash and I've also used one of my own handmade flowers.

So come on girls, grab your punches and flowers and a little bling and be creative.

Most of all, have fun.

Happy creating.

Altered Book - Ann McLachlan

Hi everyone... I've been recycling old books again ;-)

I visited my local Hospice shop and purchased some old books for 50c each,

I didn't dare tell the lovely ladies in the shop what I was going to do to them, they would have been horrified I'm sure!

This time I chose a smaller book and hollowed out both sides of the book so that i could add embellishments to both sides.

Altered Book- Ann McLachlan

I also used some of the fantastic Sizzix Alterations dies... Caged Bird, Hanging Sign and Hardware Findings along with the Film Strip die and The Ticket Stub die.... I just love these dies and they will cut through just about anything, paper, chipboard, felt, transparencies, box board (corrugated), the list goes on.

The large bloom is one of the new Roosevelt-Anna flowers from Prima....Isn't it just gorgeous!

The book, bird and ticket stubs have all been inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink....I just adore these inks!

The book is on display at Scottie Crafts if you happen to be in shopping and would like a closer look.

Bye all,

:-)  Ann

Altered Book By Ann McLachlan

Hi all,

This month i thought i would create something a bit different so I picked up a pre-loved physical chemistry book from my local hospice shop and decided to have a go at altering it….not something i have ever attempted before, but hey…you have to try these things right?

So i hollowed out the centre and had lots of fun with the small (ok, not so small) collection of Tim holtz/sizzix alterations dies that have come to live at my house.

And here is the finished project[caption id="attachment_676" align="alignleft" width="225" caption="Ann McLachlan - Front Cover"][/caption]

[caption id="attachment_677" align="alignleft" width="300" caption="Ann McLachlan - Inside Altered Book"][/caption]

I have used the following dies…  Birdcage, hanging sign, hardware findings, Tattered Florals, Heart Wings and Flourish dies on my project.

Add lots of vintage photo and walnut distress ink and a Tim Holtz Timepiece, memo pin, Locket key and an ornate plate along with some Green Tara cream mini roses to complete  the interior of the book.

I’m pretty happy with how my book turned out, I’m sure i will need to make another one….lol

It’s now on display at the shop.

Bye for now...

A Card From Ann

Hi all,

I don't make cards very often but this week i wanted to try out the new Victorian Velvet & Pumice Stone Distress inks, Tim Holtz Hardware Die and Martha Stewart Lattice Arch punch that i bought from the shop.

Here is what i created.

I combined the two distress inks on a crumpled book page and stamped on the tag with a script stamp and Victorian Velvet ink.

The outside "lace" was made using the Lattice Arch punch and the Pumice Stone ink.

The keyhole was inked with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink and

painted with Rock Candy Distress Crackle paint.

I added a few Prima flowers and tied a gorgeous Prima rhinestone studded metal flower pendant to the card (This can be removed from the card and kept as a gift),

Have a wonderful and safe long weekend everyone.

- Ann
