Inspiration from Sarah

Sarah has been superfast working with her first kit (she only received it on Saturday!), look at these gorgeous creations using paper/embellishments from Paper Loft's "Dude" collection.

Sarah says...

Here are my first three LOs for Scotty Crafts.

I was given papers from Paper loft's 'Dude' collection to work with. The colour scheme is amazing for autumn photos and perfectly matched some recent photos that I had of Benji playing in the garden in the autumn the leaves. I couldn't decide which to use on my Outdoorsy Boy LO so I chose a grid design, printed wallet size photos and used them all!

A little bit of Tim Holtz distress ink (I can't live without this stuff) and some tags and bling completed the LO.
Although this range is designed for boys the colours match really well with any sepia coloured photo. In my second LO I used photos of Natalie blowing out her 13th birthday candles. the lace and ribbon combined with some bling and flowers made a very feminine LO. I cut the large circle using different sized plates. I crumpled it, flattened it out, sanded over the creases and swiped it with distress ink. Before I adhered it to my LO I ironed it flat.

For my third LO I took a favourite shot of Benji with his teddy and two wallet prints left over from my first LO. I used a fiskars boarder punch to make the ribbon border and adhered the pleated lace border with staples. The word tags are also part of the Dude range.

You will be able to see these LO's and the one that I am currently working on at the store next week.

  2. Sarah, you are certainly an inspiration to us all ... and so quick! I am always amazed at how you manage to find the time with your beautiful family around. You are yet again to be congratulated on being part of this new, creative team.

  3. Thanks guys for your lovely words. I am thrilled to be designing for Scottie Crafts. As for finding time I do most of my work when Benji is napping - usually with Dr Phil or Oprah on in the background lol. I'm also a bit of a night owl too but I try not to stay up later than 12 or I know I will regret it the next day:)
