Gorjuss Docrafts Inspiration by Beverley

I was really looking forward to the Gorjuss stamps with the current docrafts available. I have now bought a couple of sets. The packaging is beautiful so it inspired me to do the following layout. All the "papers" you can see is actually the packaging from one of the sets. I stamped the little girl and coloured her with distress markers. I have also used the washi tape, bows and buttons from the same range.

Check out the full Docrafts range here.

Kaisercraft Elegance Love Cards By Beverley

Hi Bev here - Now I am not a card maker but I decided to do some cards with the Elegance Collection By Kaisercraft.  Kaisercraft papers are so easy to use for all sorts of projects.

With these cards only products have been used - no diecutting has been done. I have used papers and the collectables from the Elegance range and added the gate, brad, twine and a charm.
Very easy and quick cards!

Simple Stories with Annelie

Hi everyone!

This month I got to play with a fantastic collection from Simple Stories; "Life Documented". It's a fantastic "shabby" line of papers and stickers, and I think it fits any sort of scrapbooker! I have a LO to show you today, but I'm also working on a mini album with this range.

So, here's my page:

I really love the colours in this range, and I also LOVE all the alphas and stickers it comes with!

On my page I've also used the Tim Holtz flourette die, and added buttons, brads and twine.

This range is on it's way to the shop, be sure not to miss out.

I will be back soon to showcase my mini album!

July Challenge Finally!!

Well you are probably wondering what happened with the July Challenge seen it is nearly halfway through July - well here it is! Sorry it's late! You have until Midnight the 7th of August to upload your take to Mr Linky in the sidebar.

The big Craft show - CHA is about to happen in the States so we will be seeing and selling new Scrapbooking releases next month - very exciting (not so much for the credit card!). I am sure most of you like me have a pile of older papers that you have not used so my challenge to you is to use up some older papers and embellishments (not any released this year). You can make a layout, card or off the page project.  New Scrappers you can join in too just use your oldest papers - there are still a lot around that are not "new". You can create more then one project to go in the draw for the RAK - the more you create the better your chance!

For my sample I have some not so old Bo Bunny papers from July CHA 2010 - a release called midnight frost.  They are great for those wintery photos even with no snow. I have also used two of my new Cricut cartridges as my Cricut has been gathering dust. I have used Paper Lace 2  for the background lace and Flower Shoppe for the paper flowers.  These are both amazing cartridges. On my Prima flower I have used a Snow Pen (you need a heat gun to puff the snow) to make it look more wintery and the little branches are using this punch. I have dabbed picket fence crackle paint on the photos and the paper lace.

So go on and create so you can make some space for the new releases COMING SOON!

Bo Bunny Zoo-ology Inspiration by Sarah

When I opened my design team box this month I thought that it was really going to be a challenge for me to scrap with the earthy colours of the Bo Bunny ‘Zoology’ collection. This could not have been further from the truth. Once I got over the idea that I needed zoo photos to match the line I was away. These papers match beautifully with almost any outdoorsy theme and if the colours in your photos don’t work then convert them into sepia for perfect co-ordination.

For my first LO ‘Jungle Gym Fun’ I chose recent photos of my little son Benji at the local playground. I distressed and heavily inked the edges of all my papers and used the fabulous Scrapware chipboard circle border to ground all my elements. I made the title sign using the Scrapware chipboard artisan shape which I dry brushed with Tim Holtz ‘Old paper’ crackle paint. The Prima branch, mesh and home-made hessian flowers completed the LO.

I converted the photo on my second LO ‘On the Road Again’ to sepia because the bike that Benji is riding was a hand-me-down from his sister and is hot pink! – one colour that really doesn’t look good with this paper line! Again I distressed and inked the papers and added a Scrapware fence which I painted with crackle paint and gently rubbed with metallic paste to highlight the crackles. I cut the flowers using the Tim Holtz ‘Tattered Florals’ die. I inked and curled the petals then highlighted them with metallic rubons. I used Studio Calico wooden buttons for the flower centres, threaded with coarse string and again highlighted with metallic rub ons. Finally I added my title and journaling. I made the word ‘road’ in my title by adhering letter stickers to my page, rubbing over them with distress ink then gently peeling off the stickers. This is a good way to use up any letters that you no longer like the colour of but do like the font.

For my final LO I embraced the zoo theme of the papers and used photos that my son took earlier this year at Singapore zoo. I loved these photos of the elephant encounter so I printed out all four of them and incorporated them into a circular design. Again I added elements from my Scrapware chipboard stash (the fence, tree and lizard) painted with crackle paint. I added foliage using my Martha Stewart punch and couldn’t resist adding a little mesh again as it seems to go so well with the grungy look of this range. To complete the LO I made my own journaling tag from scraps of left over paper and co-ordinating stickers and added my title.
I really love the finished look of these layouts and I will definitely be experimenting with these earthy colours again. All the products that I used to make these pages are available at Scottie Crafts. Thanks for looking and have a great month scrapping.

June Challenge!

Hi Scottie Crafters!

It's June - can you believe it? I can definitely feel the cold at night, but I have to say autumn has been pretty good at my end of the world.

BUT, in saying that - I still wish it was summer... So for this challenge, I want you to scrap your SUMMER PHOTOS! I also want you to follow the sketch below!

Link your LO with Mr Linky on the sidebar, or email us your LO at customerservice@scottiecrafts.co.nz to be in to win a little something!
The challenge closes at midnight the 30th of June.

Here's my sketch:

And here's my take, using the fabulous "SPLASH" line from Echo Park!

Now get those summer photos out and get creative!

Pink Paislee + spellbinders = LOVE

Hi Scottie fans! Annelie here with one of my May projects.

I got beautiful papers from Pink Paislee to play with, from the Butterfly Garden collection. Using them, some distress ink, some lovely Prima & a set of "Nested Lacey Pennants" spellbinders, this is the result of my first share:

I started with a kraft cardstock from Bazzill. Using a doilie that can be found in the shop as a mask, I inked with Tim Holtz "crushed olive" on top of them. On the edges of my kraft cardstock, and on the edges of the cut out doilie and my light blue paper I used "walnut stain".

Since the papers are quite soft, I wanted a little "pop". So - I cut out some banner shapes with the "Nested Lacey Pennants" spellbinders in pink. I used the "walnut stain" and a music stamp on the banners to make them more interesting.

Adding a couple of cut out butterflies, some Prima bling and alphas, some journaling and mini alphas from October Afternoon I think the page came together nicely!

I will be back later in the month with another project!

Girls, girls, girls!

I'm back with some more colourful Sassafras Lass inspiration!

They really suit my girly girl photos, and I have had a ball creating with them!

First off a LO where I added some calico. Can't see it? I cut it into a banner shape, and then sprayed some lovely glimmermist on it. Love how it came out!

I also used the amazing Tim Holtz Rosette die - it really is to DIE for! I just added some Sassafras stickers on top. Voila!

On this next LO with my gorgeous girls, I also used calico. I used glimmermist once again, then cut them out in leaf shapes. When dry, I just attacked them with my sewing machine. They work well with those Prima flowers, don't you think?

I used a cuttlebug butterfly die, and added some bling. Love having some sparkle on my pages! I added some dimension on my alphas with dimensional magic.

The mini alphas and the felt comes from my own stash, the rest can be found in the shop!

Hope this gave you some inspiration to be crafty today!

First show and tell from Annelie

Hi readers!

I am so excited to share my first Scottie Craft project with you today! I went to the fabulous crop a couple of Saturdays ago, and actually got a bit done.

I was lucky enough to get some yummy Sassafras Lass papers, alphas & stickers, together with other things in my box. I also got to play with a lovely heart die for my cuttlebug, which suited these papers perfectly!

So, a colourful LO for you:

When I saw the amazing Sassafras Lass metal flowers in the shop I had to get them and add them to my LO. The doily is also from the shop, I just inked it with some orange ink to match my papers.

Be quick to get your own Sassafras stuff from the shop, it's selling fast!

Thanks for visiting today, I will be back soon with another Sassafras Lass LO!

More Graphic 45 Springtime Inspiration

After making my 7 Gypsies tray I still had a bit of the Graphic 45 Springtime paper
so I created this layout.

My daughter was not impressed about me taking these photos as I interrupted her
jumping in a puddle to stand next to an old stone building!
I have used my cricut and the paper lace cartridge to cut out the shaped layout and
the lace paper background - I think this cartridge is going to be well used.  I have added Prima flowers
and Prima chipboard Journal spots.

7 Gypsies Tray Inspiration

When I sorted the kits for everyone last year I chose myself  a 7 Gypsies photo tray and the gorgeous Graphic 45 Springtime patterned papers and tags.  This is what I created:

The longest part of creating the tray was the measuring of the compartments. I have added a Prima vine, Tim Holtz frame and some flowers made from the smallest flower on the Tim Holtz tattered flowers die.  This is a great gift idea and can have so many themes.  This is currently on display in store.

Check back next week for some beautiful creations by Wendy.
