Altered Noodle Box ~ by Kimi

Hi everyone, today I am here to share my Altered Noodle or Take out Box with you all.  I have had this noodle box in my stash for quite some time, just waiting to be altered. I thought the Gingerbread collection from Kaisercraft was perfect for it!!  I love these papers, they have a retro feel to them and certainly put you in the Christmas mood.  I have used selections from the 6 1/2 x 6 1/2 paper pad.

My first step was to pull the box apart and set aside the wire handle.  Making sure to put it where I would find it again!!  I don't know about you, but sometimes I put things down on my desk and they just vanish!! never to be seen again!!
I then cut out segments from the sides to reduce the bulk and make the sides sit a little flatter.
I also sanded the shiny surface just to be sure that my glue would stick.

After I got all my surfaces prepped I set about tracing and cutting the box pieces out.  I am sorry guys I got busy with it and totally forgot to take pictures of this process.
When I finally remembered to take photos, I was up to the embellishing stage.  I have used some ribbons and seam binding from my stash.
A sticker or two from the sticker sheet that came in my kit.
and the final touch was a wooden Santa embellishment from my stash.

Here is a close up on the sides and the ribbons.

This project came together really quickly and easily. I think it makes a great gift box, but I thought I would use mine as a table decoration and fill it with lots of Christmas lollies!!!

Thanks again for stopping by and sharing some of your Saturday with me.  Please be sure to pop back tomorrow to see what Wendy has been creating for you.

  1. Hello Kimi
Yes I think I would use one for Christmas Lollies too!
It looks wonderful and a great Christmas decoration for the Table, I can so relate to getting engrossed with the making of a project and forgetting to take Photos.
    Smiles:)

  2. Love it Kimi...I'm thinking of trying these and making them in to a hot chocolate kit for favours this year. I always have so many ideas but this one I might actually get round to :)
