Gratitude Journal - by Kimi

Hey everyone today I would like to share with you the beginnings of my gratitude journal. This is my first attempt at making these junk journals, but when I got the New Year New You papers in my Scotties Crafts design team kit, this was the first thing that popped into my head. I plan to create a place to journal every month, everything that I am grateful for.  I hope to include pics and memorabilia along the way.  So I will need to create pockets and hidey-holes to house them!!

I have to give a big shout out to fellow design team member and scrappy bestie Tash....Thank you so much for all your patience and answering all my dumb questions.

I know that doing these freestyle kind of journals for some is easy, but for me, for some reason it was hard.  I think the no rules or boundaries and the "anything goes" was what I found daunting.  However once I got into it, it was lots of fun and somewhat liberating.

I began by gathering bits of everything... you name it, it went in to it!! Cardstock, envelopes, seed packets, tags.  I have also printed out some gratitude journal-ling tags and sayings.

So guys here is the mess I created .... just gathering stuff!! I ended up using the chipboard as templates for my dividers.

This is my cover so far...I have purposely made it a little short and smaller than the rest of the album...I like the idea of the tabs "hanging out".  I have also made the lace and twine trimming a little bit long to add a bit of shabbiness!

I have also cut up and used the tags and cut outs that came with the papers.  These go with my "Gratitude" theme very well and I my plan is to use heaps of them through out the journal.

So as you can tell from the above pictures I still have a wee way to go.  I have lots of inking, stamping and journal-ling to add.  Not to mention the binding...guess I better stop chatting with you all and get back to it!!  See you all next week!!  Oh before I go... please go check out Scottie Crafts huge range of scrapbooking supplies.  Adrienne and the girls are always more than happy to help you out!!
Till next time remember to .....
