Echo Park 'Little girl' papers - Sarah G

This month I had got to play with the totally gorgeous "Little Girl" collection from Echo Park. Last month I used the "Little Boy" range to make a mini-album about my baby son so I was excited to try out the 'girl' range for my little daughter.

I Love the Watch Her While She Sleeps

The first LO that I made was inspired by a recent photo that I had taken of Sophie asleep surrounded by her dolls and soft toys. The turquoise blue in this collection is my absolute favourite colour and although I tried to incorporate more colour into the LO I ended up settling for a monochromatic scheme. I heavily distressed my background paper and used thread to 'weave' together two of the deeper tears that I had made. I used a Martha Stewart Edge punch to frame upper border of the photo. I  hunted through my stash to find all the left over offcuts of trim that co-ordinated with my colour and layered them under the photo. I finished off the page with a chipboard heart, some black roses and stickers from the 'Little Girl' collection. I used mini alphas for my journaling and added a title using white 'Thickers'. The overall effect is very feminine, cool and relaxing, which matched my photo perfectly.

3 Cakes for Little Miss Six

The bright, happy colours of this collection inspired my second LO. I chose photos from my daughter's sixth birthday. I had a lot of fun with paintint the background. I used an old credit card to scrape a paint frame around the cardstock then splattered more white paint over the entire background. Finally I roughly machine stitched several times around the painted edges of the LO in white cotton.  I layered several bright papers underneath my photos, distressing and inking the edges before adhering. I selected stickers from the 'Little Girl' collection to match my theme and adhered them to chipboard to make my own chipboard accents. I added the title using mini-alphas from the collection and American Craft 'Thickers'. I completer the LO by handwriting my journaling onto strips of white cardstock and adding a felt flower and some rhinestones.

Check back on Friday for more inspiration from this range of papers.
