Album Cover or Wall Art by Wendy

I was so happy to get this Kaiser Craft Art of Life Collection. I just love this paper collection. It is basically shades of black and neutral tones and it lends itself to being inked in any colour to suit your decor or project. I chose to ink mine in Tim Holtz Distress Ink Aged mahogany.

Here is my finished piece.

I chose the Art of Life Kaiser Craft paper called Loved. I painted a 12 by 12 piece of chip board with black gesso to use as a base to stabilise my art piece. I used pieces from the matching collectables pack.

I cut the sheet into the printed pieces, then I used the Tim Holtz distressing tool to distress the edges of all the pieces and then inked all the edges with Distress ink Aged mahogany.

I made my own embossing diffuser to suit the design on the paper by cutting a hole in 3 layers of chip board with a spellbinders die and used this to apply embossing, then sanded it lightly,

I used 2 buttons from the collectables and shaped them with my McGills stylus and mat.

Add captionI applied a thick coating of Glossy Accents and allowed it to dry.

I used a spellbinders die to just emboss a frame on another piece of the paper.

I coloured the seam binding with Distress stain aged mahogany.

I also used the Stain to colour some white roses from my stash.

Apply the buttons using 3 layers of foam tape.

I made a easycast resin frame frame, painted black and added metalic rubons (small hint... don't leave your rubons in a hot car.) To complete my project I added bling and embelishments from my collection. I mounted the completed pieces to the black chip board and then applied it to a plain ablum cover.
Thanks for following. Wendy

  1. Hello Wendy,
Love this, it has such wonderful elements, I am really envious of the resin frame, I not tried this technique yet!
    Wonderful Inspiration.
