Ho Ho Ho wooden album - by Kimi

Merry Christmas Everyone...what is that I hear you say? It is too early?   Noooooo, it is never to early to get into the festive spirit -  is it?  Ok,  well enough of all the Christmas cheer then and on to the good stuff and I don't mean Christmas lollies I mean SCRAPPING stuff.  I'm here today to  share with you all my latest project that I have created from Kaisercrafts Gingerbread collection.  Believe it or not,  I'm actually not really into all the Christmas scrapping very much, but these papers make creating those special Christmas projects and gifts a breeze.  This past week I pulled out from my hoard vault (and dusted off all the cobwebs) a Kaisercraft wooden tabbed album.

 I am sorry guys I have done it again.  I forgot to take photo's of the process... :(  All I have to share is the finished album. As you may have already noticed I decided to change the orientation of the album and scrap it horizontal.  I traced around the wooden pages and fussy cut the papers.  I did leave all the wooden edges raw as the brown tone went with the pages.

 I have added some glossy accents to the Gingerbread men and use pop dots to give them some dimension.

I also added some Crystalline Kindy glitz to the Christmas ornaments and layered them up with pop dots as well.

  

On each of the pages I have used the Collectables pack that was in my kit.  These are fantastic little extras that Kaisercraft now carry for all of their paper collections.  They make embellishing and journalling  so much easier.

 Here I have used some of the little tags, just tucked them into a pocket behind the photo mat for some hidden journalling.

Well everyone that is my project share for this week.  Sorry, it kind of seems short n sweet this time round, but the pictures really do all the talking .  Thanks again for stopping by and sharing some of your day with me.

MinI Tag by Sue Butler

Hello Friends

As you know the Christmas papers and elements are now arriving in store, and I have already been spending some of Rob's hard earned cash!!! He loves me what can I say.

I do enjoy making Christmas projects and this Tag will look wonderful on a Christmas parcel.

I chose to work with these three items. 

 I painted up some Card stock in brilliant Blue dye inks and dry embossed with a
 Tim Holtz texture fade.

The Flourish die has been heat embossed with the
 Ranger enamelware and I also cut the small Memory Box pinwheel flower.

I decided to diecut the embossed card with SB labels seventeen
after the embossing, this was not a problem because the e-bosser works it's magic and does not flatten out the embossing.

I also dabbed some Gesso on top, because I wanted more texture on the background.
Look at the difference it has made. 

 

I found this twirly bit and trim in my scraps box, the trim was painted in silver and then dabbed with Black Acrylic, it resembles metal don't you think?

 I cannot remember how I cut the twirl, it is obviously part of a cut up flourish, it is amazing what you can do with scraps, especially on a little project such as this.

And just one more technique, tinting White seam binding using diluted distress stains.

Now look through your scrap box and make a personal mini Tag for that special person.

Daisy Card by Sue Butler

Hello Everyone

This week I have made a fairly simple card, (well for me it is) the 'lifetime Blue Bayou' 

paper was my inspiration.

I cut this Daisy on the cricut out of the paper then dry embossed .

The centre was stamped using  Couture Creations Delightful Phrases

 

The Daisy needed a lift, so I lightly dabbed clear versamark over the petals then dipped it in the UTEE. I only did this once, normally with this technique, you keep repeating the steps until you have a beautiful glass-like finish, but my intention was to make it look like rain drops.

And this is the effect, I finished it off with a Prima Rose and a bow.

The die cut behind the Daisy is Spellbinders Border Gold Facet dies.
